Services
Hospice Georgian Triangle has 150 trained volunteers providing volunteer hours to support our programs.
Home Visiting Services
In-home and in-hospital visiting available to all persons diagnosed with a terminal illness. The volunteer tries to enhance life for the individual and family by providing whatever the situation requires, from "time of" for a family caregiver, to shopping, to sheer companionship, to walking the dog, any request is considered a priority.
Hospice Suite Respite Care
From time to time, stress can overwhelm the family caregivers. To allow them to "recharge their batteries" the Susie Newton Hospice Suite offers respite care for their loved one in a homelike setting, using the same volunteers they have become used to in their own home. To provide the necessary 24 hour care, the volunteers are supplemented by Hospice paid nursing care. The respite care period can last up to two weeks per admission.
Bereavement Support Services
For as long as desired by the family, the Hospice volunteer provides a supportive presence, someone to talk with both before and after the death of a loved one. Bereavement support is provided by group support with a trained facilitator, by in-home visiting and/or telephone.
Special Service for Children
A Rainbows program brings a specially trained facilitator together with children who are coping with any dramatic life change, through the loss or separation of a family member.
Educational Services
A library at the Hospice office has many books, brochures, and videos dealing with illness, grief, bereavement, spirituality, coping and various organizations devoted to helping the individual and their family.
